Dear Kitty,
I think I must be the most boring Fresher in the whole of the student population of the UK. I have been to one Freshers' event, got lost in the centre of Manchester, and been to a G&S cocktail party. That is basically the limit of my socialising over the last week - ok, so I went out for coffee with Craig and Matt yesterday, but that's about it. Dan thinks I am being 'too sensible', and I agree - but, really, all I want to do is start studying again!
I had an audition yesterday, for St Ann's Church, and got in! I'm doing Evensong with them on Sunday, and we're doing the Howells Coll. Reg. Mag. and Nunc., and the Leighton Responses. Also in my folder was the Antiphon that I did when Satnav and everyone left Oundle - it's loud and brilliant! The rest of the music is pretty good too - most of the stuff I've been given I know, but it's great to be sight-singing again. I had another audition this morning, for the Cosmo Singers - which went terribly as far as actual singing goes, but quite well with sight-singing and range tests - and I've also been roped into writing a musical with the director of this year's G&S production. How I'll fit everything in, I've no idea, but I can't wait!
I can't do Hebrew this year, because it clashes with all my Japanese classes, so I'm going to do it next year instead.
Yours,
      Chessie
