Dear Kitty,
well, I told you that Dan and I had one more day - and what a day it was! We met at the castle at eleven, and then spent four hours going round the museum together. It's a surprisingly good museum - lots of interactive stuff (we are childish - there was a section where you had to build an arch and we got a round of applause) and things about nature and animals. We went to Frank's at three, and stayed there until six - I beat him at Scrabble (it's now 5:4 to him, because he beat me at a Viking board game) and then he taught me how to play Double Gin Rummy. We went back to his afterwards, and he made me tea, and then we went to Bill's for a party. It was good to meet - and re-meet - so many of Dan's friends, and Bill is really nice. Dan and I spent most of the night sitting on the sofa and playing 'Never Have I Ever' and cuddling - and we had a proper DMC as well. I got very very drunk on vodka and apple juice, and then threw up when I got home. Saying goodbye was awful - I almost cried!
Mum drove me to Manchester the next day, so here I am! My room looks scarily like my room at school did - it's very unnerving. I unpacked on Saturday and went out for tea with Cecily and Andrew, and then met one of my other flatmates on Sunday. She's from Manchester, so really knows her way around. We (me, her, and a few other people) spent ages exploring on Sunday afternoon. Our first Freshers' Event was that night - called 'Facehall', and we all got given Facebook-style t-shirts to write our names and subjects on, and then there was a long pub crawl. I met a few awesome people - the two that I seem to get on with best are Matt and Craig. Matt is bi, and Craig is gay, and we're all (all = almost everyone I seem to have met) going to join the LGBT Soc. We spent all of last night together, and all of tonight as well! Today, I had an orientation session for everyone on my course, and then an 'Ice Breaker' session, when I got to know everyone. To be honest, I only met two people there who I got on with - the others were very loud and 'ReFreshers' and a bit annoying. But the people I did talk to were very nice, so that was good. As for tonight - it was a 'Geek' theme evening, but Craig, Matt and I went off to do our own thing (we don't like crowded clubs much), which ended up in us getting very lost for three hours and not actually doing any drinking after we left Craig's flat. We didn't mind, though - it was hilarious and quite an adventure!
We're off to the Societies Fair tomorrow, and Chinatown, and to the Health and Safety talk - and something else, but I can't remember what. I love being a student - but, to be honest, I can't wait to start my course!!!
Dan told me he loves me on Friday. I miss him so much.
