Dear Kitty,
Dan and I are official. I still can't quite believe it myself, but I'm not going to complain about it at all. We've been out for drinks twice, and yesterday was our 'first date'. I spent the day waltzing around Great Yarmouth and humming to myself - of course, the car ride I was on noticed how cheery I was, guessed I was seeing someone that night, and then I blushed when they asked if it was Dan, so they told everyone (including Lewis, who rang the other car ride, made them put him on speakerphone, and then told them). The only negative point during the day was when I got bitten by a dog - I'm now back on Amoxicillin, which makes me ill, but oh well - and then I panicked and went into total shutdown, as I always do when I'm ill or injured and by myself. I settled up as soon as I could when we got back, and then got changed, before dashing out to see Dan. He told me I looked lovely (lovely? In jeans? Aw) and then took my hand and led me down the road, both of us laughing over what the office had been saying. He took me to 'Bar Tapas', a Spanish restaurant that becomes a salsa club at about midnight. We spent the first half hour or so just sipping drinks - he has such piercing eyes, and he keeps looking at me and smiling, and every time, I blush and come over all shy. But he's so nice about it that it was all fine after a while, and we just got more and more comfortable with each other. I was so nervous that I couldn't eat more than half my salad, and then he insisted that I have an alcoholic drink. And then he moved his chair around so we were sitting next to each other, and we sat and laughed and held hands and occasionally kissed, and - oh, we must have looked so sickening to everyone else, but we were so happy.
The office was hilarious this morning. We're now known as either 'Chan' or 'Dassie', and, rather than embarrassing me, it just makes me laugh! We both got put in Great Yarmouth again today, and we were going to go out for a drink when we got back, but I had to catch my bus - so we just stood in the bus stop, hugging, until his bus arrived. He kissed me goodbye and told me that he would send me 'achingly cute' texts all weekend. I can't stop smiling, Kitty. He's so sweet - musical, friendly, sane(ish), and a total romantic. We're texting even now - he's sitting by the UEA lake with some friends and some beer, and says that the stars are amazing and that I am missed. He's having a housewarming party next weekend, and I'm invited - scary! He wants me to meet his friends - some of them apparently think I might be imaginary, and one of the others said to him (on Friday, after he took me to Frank's) that he'd kill Dan if we weren't dating within three days. But they all like the sound of me, imaginary or otherwise, so hurrah!
He kissed my hand yesterday. Nobody's ever done that to me before *twinkle twinkle grin*.
I'm going to enjoy this, Kitty - for as long as it lasts.
Yours,
Chessie
P.S We go the bus back from Yarmouth today, and Debs left Dan and I to sit together. He played me some amazing music - really odd, sort of minimalist music with poetry being read over it. It was incredible.
P.P.S Also I now have a PS2.
P.P.P.S I'm really sunburnt. Dan thinks it's funny.
