Dear Kitty,
as I said in my last entry - what a weekend! Saturday began bright and early when my friend Lydia (met in choir, au pair in Brussels, used to live in Paris) came to drop her suitcase off at mine for the day. We went out straight afterwards, and spent all day in the Marais (I must stop going there), browsing the (surprise surprise) vintage shops. I bought a tartan miniskirt and a suitcase - oh, and an Amish headcovering! I found it in the euro box, and couldn't resist it. It's amazing! We had brilliant fun, though, and then went to do the Jubilee service. Peter let me sing sop., which was great, because he originally tried to make me sing alto, and then I would have missed out on all the B flats! Afterwards, we all went to Becky's - my first cocktail party! Being with everyone was lovely, and it's really shown me how much I'm going to miss them. Emma gave me a lift back at half twelve, and I fell into bed at half one.
Sunday started even earlier, after I slept through my alarm. I woke up at ten to nine, thinking I'd missed the whole service, and then ran around my apartment like a headless chicken while I tried to organise my stuff for Disneyland. I was only ten minutes late, though, and Peter was fine with it because everyone else was really hungover. We did the Howells Coll. Reg. service, and then Rossini's O Salutaris Hostia. Charlotte and I dashed off after we'd said goodbye to Joe, and then we were off and away! We cheated the RER system by only buying one ticket and squeezing through together - oh dear. But it worked, we weren't caught, and half an hour later, we were through the gates and staring at Sleeping Beauty's Castle! We spent all day going on all the rides - Charlotte got me on Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain too - the latter of which we went on four times. We both bought the photo at the end of the last time - it had been raining, so we were soaked, and we knew where the camera was so we did dinosaur poses. That night, we stayed until the park closed - and we got to see the 20th Anniversary Firework Display! It was the most magical thing ever - and we sang along to all the songs, and recorded it. We have heaps of photos from yesterday, too. Best of all (along with the fireworks) we saw the parade! It was incredible! There were all the princes and all the princesses - Flynn Rider actually looked like Flynn Rider, and Prince Eric was totally hot. Oh, and we got stared at by Cinderella's Prince Charming!!! We've both decided that, when we're older, we are going to work in Disneyland. It just seems so magical!
We got home at half twelve, soaked to the skin and exhausted, but I think we might have been the happiest girls in Paris that night.
Yours,
Chessie
