Dear Kitty,
brilliant weekend!! Disneyland was, of course, amazing, and I'm going back in two weeks with one of my friends. I must say, theme parks by yourself are brilliant; I got to choose which rides I went on and there was nobody to argue with or wait for. Of course, it's going to be brilliant with Charlotte too, but I quite enjoyed it. Didn't see a single character though, so that was annoying, but it really doesn't matter. I bought a jumper as well, which I'm going to wear today - ok it's a kid's jumper, but it was so soft and cute that I couldn't resist it.
As for yesterday - well, we did some Gibbons and Lassus in church, and I had two solos, which was nice. I wasn't even nervous for the Gibbons! Apparently it sounded lovely, so I was feeling pretty pleased with myself. After church, Charlotte (au pair who lives two metro stops away from me) invited me over for lunch, and then we were going to go ice skating but the rink was closed today, so we went to the vintage shops in the Marais and had hours of fun messing around. We tried on hideous wedding dresses, some really awful 80s clothes, and then played around with all the mink furs and their feet (it's hideous but hilarious at the same time). We went back to mine after and watched Harry Potter - although most of it was us just giggling and making fun of it. So overall, a brilliant day.
Charlotte is really nice, actually. She's completely mad and has a great sense of humour. She's also trilingual - something I am very jealous of, but it's great because now I have someone to speak German with! She's also brilliant at the piano and organ, and I've never met anyone who can sightread the way she can (as far as the piano goes). And she's also so unbelievably confident! Are all Americans really confident, or is it just her?
Also I went through the 1euro boxes and found two enormous skirts - they're so big I can get about two skirts out of each of them. Hurrah!
Yours,
       Chessie
