Dear Kitty,
so Freya arrived on Saturday. We went to a big church party on Sunday, which was really fun - everyone was there, and we basically had a barbeque and sang. It was a bit like being at home; people standing around the piano and singing lots of really bad music - not 'bad' as such, just ridiculous, ranging from Lloyd-Webber to Elton John to G&S to Mozart. We did 'Queen of the Night' at one point, and apart from the Fs, the rest felt really quite easy, surprisingly.
We went shopping in the Marais on Monday, and I bought a hat and a ridiculous coat which I might make into a cape. It's black faux fur, and size 16, but so warm and comfy that I couldn't resist - I feel like a Hollywood starlet every time I put it on. We went out that night - mistake. First we had cocktails in THE Irish pub, and then we looked at some other places, then had Cuba Libres in another cafe - and then we went to a club. A real club. It's called 'O'Sullivan's', and they IDed us and everything. I didn't have ID, so I just shouted that I worked here at the man at the door and eventually he waved us through. We ended up staying there for hours, drinking Jaegerbombs and being chatted up by guys. Then we had to get the night bus back - we'd never have got home if it hadn't been for two lovely young men who made sure we did.
Tuesday was spent in Chinatown. After going to sleep at half three, we woke up at seven - well, I woke up to the sound of Freya doing the washing up at seven - and left the house at nine (I was hungover - she was fine. How, I don't know). We were in Chinatown all morning, then went to the Champs that afternoon, and then back to mine before work. I finished at seven, so Freya fell asleep and I watched 'Princess Mononoke'. We had tea when she woke up, and then spent an hour or so having a proper DMC. I miss her already.
It was a great weekend - really fun and really interesting. I don't think that the girls will be able to come again before I leave, which is a shame, but it's been totally awesome for both times of them being here.
Also work today was really easy - Etienne went swimming this arvo so I had an hour and a half break. He's been really good lately.
I miss them, Kitty. I miss them so much.
Yours,
Fran
