Dear Kitty,
I was in a really bad mood after work today - just fed up with being treated like nothing all day, I suppose. The dad came home early again, and Etienne had just been really difficult all afternoon, so I was ready to go downstairs and burst into tears when I got let off for choir. And then I got to choir, sat there for five minutes while we sang Howells, and then Joe made a joke - and suddenly everything was fine again. We're doing the Howells 'Like As The Hart' and the Darke in F, and I missed the Mozart but we're also doing 'When Mary To The Temple Went'. Peter gave me the (very small) solo for the Sanctus and Benedictus in the Darke, and everyone complimented me on it afterwards. We went upstairs for tea when we'd finished and then spent an hour discussing Disney films and giggling like children. Oh, and we had to cut a cake with a hammer.
I love my choir. They give me solos and make me smile. It's just the job that's the problem. The song 'For Now' from Avenue Q springs to mind, and it's what I think about when I'm really fed up.
Yours,
Chessie
