Dear Kitty,
well, Bridget arrived on Saturday afternoon, and it was great to see her. I was meant to be working at one, but they were all still having lunch, so I didn't start until two - and then had to sit in a freezing cold park for two hours. It wasn't the most fun day of my life, but it certainly made coming back indoors a wonderful experience. I collected Bridget from Gare du Nord at five fifteen, and then we went out to the supermarket and messed around in the 'international foods' section. I went to bed at ten that night (goodness!), and on Sunday we went to Chinatown and the Marais, because they're the only two places that are open at the weekend. She left on Monday morning to go back to Normandy, after I translated for her at the Niger embassy (she's off to Niger soon), and I was glad to have seen her. I don't see her very often, but it's always fun when I do - we're quite similar.
I spent the rest of Monday morning rearranging my studio, and then went looking for a poster in the afternoon after I found out that my bookshelf had been against the wall because some nitwit had drawn all over it (the wall, not the bookshelf). Now, I've an enormous black and white photo, and a picture of Elvis - and the added combination of tiled floor and ancient electric heater make it look like something out of 'Grease'. I'm not complaining - I love it.
Katie and I had a nice long chat this afternoon - I miss all the girls so much, and I've missed out on EVERYTHING! Damn you, distance.
Also I'm getting a piano put into my room tomorrow. AAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! I can't wait.
Yours,
Eliza (still haven't found the right name)
