Dear Kitty,
coming back to Paris was dreadful. I spent most of the night before crying, because I just didn't want to go back. Mum and Dad didn't want me to either - but what else could I be doing this year? I can't do what Alex does (i.e. nothing), but I don't know what job I could get in Norwich. Sure, I could join the girls' choir, but I can't rely on Mum and Dad for six months.
I left on Tuesday morning, and that was where things went wrong. Firstly, I didn't get to say goodbye properly to Mum and Dad because my train was cancelled, so I had to run to cathc the one that was leaving. Then they decided to cancel all the tube services to Heathrow because of a 'possible obstruction', and then I had to buy a new ticket to Heathrow that cost me twenty pounds. Finally, when I got here, they'd all forgotten that I was meant to be coming back on that day. So - yeah. Great.
Luckily, Julia was here when I did get back, and we always have fun. On Tuesday, we watched 'Paris When It Sizzles' and chatted for ages - and then last night, we played the Sims 3 until FOUR this morning. I am tired. She isn't awake yet - when she does wake up, we're off out to Starbucks (which will probably end up with us doing something else stupid, because that always happens when I give her coffee).
I may be eighteen, but I've felt about twelve at home recently. Mum and Dad have been so nice all holiday, and, really, I've been totally spoilt. We all had such a good Christmas; as Mum said, it was all 'too nice a time, really'. But, oh, it was wondrous. This time next year, I'll be at uni, and hopefully I won't be homesick. Really, it's only worse here because 1) I'm not surrounded by people who are in the same situation, and 2) because I'm surrounded by a family that I'm not part of. Occasionally - just occasionally, I'd like to have someone to look after me.
Still, new year, new me, new rules, new EVERYTHING. Sod Alex. I'm surrounded by hot French men.
Yours,
Chessie
