Dear Kitty,
Alex left this morning. I almost cried on him when he hugged me goodbye; he said that he really hoped to see me again soon, but - it all just felt so final. So when he left, I went straight upstairs and cried into a very hot bath. I spent the morning generally moping around, and then got the bus into town. I was planning on doing some Christmas shopping; instead, I went to the university and met up with Satnav. He bought me a half of cider, and we sat and complained about long-distance relationships for an hour. Then we had coffee and made some very rude jokes, and then went for a walk, and I felt so much better afterwards. He's coming to stay after Christmas, which is good.
There was a really cool guy (a post-grad) in the bar, actually. He happily danced over to it, grinning like a fool, and then asked the bar staff if they thought that an Apple Sour plus a cinnamon-flavour shot mixed together would taste like an apple pie. Apparently he did. He looked at me afterwards, smiled, and said 'I'm setting bad examples for the first years.' I felt very proud for being taken as a uni student. Also they didn't even ID me in the bar. Marvellous.
Nick and I were complaining about relationships. I told him that boys were rubbish, but that you could probably say the same about girls. He agreed, so I asked him what his problem was. His answer? 'They don't fling themselves on me in fits of desire at the slightest provocation. That's a problem.' It made me laugh a lot.
Thanks, Nick and Satnav.
Also I'm off to Katie's on Monday for a nice girly time. I'm looking forward to it. And Daddy gets back tomorrow.
Yours,
Francesca
