Dear Kitty,
I just got an email from two people who used to be in Kirkeby with me, asking why I defriended them on Facebook. Oh, I got that horrible squelchy guilty feeling, and was about to reply and re-add them, when I realised:
It's my choice.
I don't have to speak to people if I don't want to. I don't have to be nice to people who don't like me. Oundle made me forget that I have choices about things - and it's only just really hit me that I don't have to do things if I don't want to. So, if I have plans this weekend, I have a choice: I can work upstairs, or I can carry on with what I had planned to do. Incidentally, I've chosen the latter.
I may miss Oundle sometimes - but freedom feels better than anything else possibly could.
Yours,
Chessie
