Dear Kitty,
oh, what a day of ups and downs! Mum and Dad came up today (I thought it was next weekend) and I've never been so happy to see anyone before. I met them at their hotel, and then we went back to mine and had a cup of coffee. Dad brought up his computer because mine died on Thursday, which was really nice of him, along with some other DVDs and things from home - as well as a toy camel from India! We went to the Champs and walked up and down their for a while, stopping for a Coke at Quick, and then walked some more, before finally finding a nice little French restaurant to have tea at. So those were the 'ups'. The 'downs' were me finding out that Dad probably won't be home for my eighteenth - yes, I cried, because I'm silly. But we're sorting it so that I have my birthday party then so I needn't be at home, and then having a big celebration when he does get back. Otherwise, it was just all those little stomach flips when I realised I wasn't going to see my parents for at least another three months, especially when we said goodbye - I'd see them tomorrow, but it would take me ages to get to the hotel, and they've to get on the Eurostar pretty early, so they decided it would be best if I didn't.
After spending all summer complaining about my family, they're suddenly the only thing I want.
I'll just count down the days until I get to see them again, and have little things to look forward to each weekend - like next weekend, which is the Paris Manga Expo AND Nuit Blanche.
I miss you already, Mum and Dad.
Yours,
Francesca
