Dear Kitty,
I never thought university stuff would be this stressful. I have until Saturday to decide if I want to go to uni this year or next year.
But I don't want to go to the places I've applied to. I've set myself up for Cambridge since I was about eleven, and it's the only place I want to go to. And, of course, I'm not applying there this year - because I was told not to by a lot of people. I was planning on applying next year, but with the student fees rise, then it makes a lot more sense (in the long run) to go this year. But I don't want to choose the sensible option, Kitty. And I'm worried about the people I'll meet. I don't know who'll be there too, what they'll be like, or whether I'll get on with them. What if it all ends up like Oundle again?
Most of all, I don't want to go because I'm scared. I'm not ready for this yet.
Yours,
       Francesca

you know, cambridge isn\'t the only decent university out there. Try manchester, or york (or york st johns), nottingham, east anglia, hull...
the course is pretty much universal, and you\'ll always find some friends at uni.
We\'re all terrified, but we\'ll all be relieved next year; it\'ll make meeting new people a lot easier.
