I got back almost two hours ago - from an AMAZING weekend! I've spent this weekend with my new (third) family in a YHA cottage in Thurley. We've had three talks - the first was 'what did God do for us?' and the next two were 'what can we do for God?'. It was really fun, actually, and really opened my eyes to Christianity more than before.
A weekend for prayer, relaxation and friends - and, once again, I've just been accepted. I mean, I go to Open House every week and talk to all the people there - but such a small group of us makes it really close. It was without electronics (mostly, except music and 'phones and essentials like ovens) so we talked and talked and read and played Charades and Sevens and just had lots of fun. Last night, we played Charades, the Name Game, and sang, and played Chess and Monopoly and Jenga. Surprisingly, one of the best bits was washing up - mostly because we all sang (mostly hymns) while we did it. We also had to cook and tidy and lay the table and such - which most of us usually despise, but you'd be surprised by how much fun housework can be when it's done with friends.
So, last night was board games, and today was outdoors. We all had breakfast, then went out to a field and played Sevens and something else but I don't know the name of it - and found some swings, which was fun. Then was lunch and afterwards we all went for a two hour long walk through all the nearby fields. And played '40-40 in', which was really good too.
So now I have a whole new family, which is great. I'd better go now, though - Freya's here.
