Dear Kitty,
From the enormous highs to the horrendous lows. Once again my day has been ruined by what must be the seventh flaming row I've had with my parents this holiday.
I'm just fed up with it. They seem to expect me to be some form of 'wonderchild' and overachieve and be brilliant and perfect and all that and all I ever seem to do is disappoint. They say I'm lazy, that I've never achieved anything, that I don't work hard, that I'm childish and that I'm just generally difficult. I AM difficult, I know, but only at home when they annoy me. I'm not childish anymore - or I haven't been for a while, at least, despite what I'd like. I DO work hard when I really need to - and just in general. And I've tried to achieve stuff - I mean, I've written a play - but that doesn't count, apparently. And ok, fine, I might be lazy sometimes, but no more than any other teenager. I'm just fed up with being compared to Cecily and William or being plain ignored. Right now, I'd rather be ignored than have it how it is at the moment. I hate living at home, and I'd rather be at Oundle right now than here. This is saying something, because I generally can't stand Oundle. I just want my parents to accept me for ME. I'm never going to be what they want from me. Can't they just accept that?
Yours,
           Chessie
