Dear Kitty,
So, I'm writing this from the middle of München, in a flat somewhere and no work for another five hours.
I'm enjoying being here. It's interesting, and Claudi's family is lovely. The only irritating this is that her siblings keep moving my stuff - I am now iPodless, as well as Sonicless and knitting-needleless. I don't mind so much about the last two - I'm just having minor problems living without my music at the moment. Still, otherwise it's all great. I'm working in a theatre that's an old factory, and the people I'm working with are lovely. Unfortunately, they've all got really thick Bavarian accents, and it's sometimes hard to understand what they're saying. Luckily, there's somebody French working there, so I'm improving TWO languages. Also, I met lots of Claudi's friends yesterday, and one of them was Chinese - so Claudi and the rest asked us to have a conversation in Mandarin. It was indeed awesome.
On Sunday, we went swimming in a lake, and I have no idea as to what we're going to do this weekend. Yesterday, we went to the theatre and saw a play called 'die Jungfrau von Orleans' and I have no idea what was going on. Neither did anyone else, so it wasn't just my lack of Germanic knowledge. It all seemed a bit 'Monty Python', anyway, and the bits I did understand were very funny. The entire set seemed to be made up of rows and rows of potted plants, and I'd never seen a stage like it. It's opened up my eyes as to just how extravagant a set can be. Suffice to say that the whole evening was fascinating, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Anway, that's enough of me. Once again, I've been worried - Tom's been stressed, Freya and Garrood have broken up, and Isla and Roy are now complicated. As I said last year, it only seems to get difficult in the holidays! Why? Why? I haven't spoken to Tom since, so I'm hoping he's alright. Freya seems ok - it's just Garrood that's upset. As for Isla and Roy, I have no idea about what's going on or how I can help. Oh, it's all so hard!
Anyway, I'd best be off. I have a script that needs to be written.
Bis die nächste Mal.
Yours,
           Francesca
