I just heard from my mom about grama. She has a fracture in her hip and must have surgery. The dr admitted her and tomorrow a surgeon will be in to see her and talk to mom. What makes this harder is grama has alzheimers and doesn`t understand any of this.I feel like I should go stay with herĀ so shes not alone. She doesn`t remember I`m her granddaughter but she knows that she knows me.It might be easier for the dr if she had a fimiliar face there..she can get fiesty LOL! Thank you so much for your thoughts & prayers.I really appreicate them!

All my prayers go up for grama!
I\'m sorry about your Grama. It will be good for you to stay but don\'t over do it and get too tired yourself. I\'ll pray for you guys.
Father God, I come to you and ask that you would send this whole family, not just the grandmother, and comfort them as they go through this surgery. Lift them up and may they draw strength from one another. I pray that the surgery will be done without any complications, guiding the hands of all the doctors and nurses to make this surgery a total success. I stand in agreement with chimmer and her family, in Jesus name I ask that Your will be done........amen Keep your faith strong, God has everything under control
I will be thinking of yu and your family.
God bless

My mother has Alzheimers too. She knows who I am but her short term memory is gone! I\'m sorry about your grama. I would want to be with her too! I understand what you\'re going through. Love ya sis!!
Thank the Lord He has blessed your Grandmother with a daughter and granddaughter that is able to go and be beside her when she wakes up.
After I had my surgery and was wheeled back into icu where my wife could only see me for a half hour every two hours. Even though I was knocked out cold every half our she came to see me and just being in her presents make my blood preasure drop and run normal, and I didn\'t moan with pain as much. She may never know of you being there but during that time YOU are, it will make all the diferance in the world. Expecialy when you have to say your last good-by\'s My prayer\'s are with you.
Hip replacement is serious bussiness when the patint is older. You being there will be apprecated end if she doesn\'t remember why.
any support for her would be great. my grandmother had alzheimer\'s and she was not aware of who was around her for the past couple of years before her death in dec. hang in there. i know it is difficult to see someone you love in pain.
I am sorry I wasn\'t here yesterday to hear about your Gramma.. I guess sometimes we get wrapped up and lost in our own lifes. Shoot, with the way things have been happening arond here its real easy to get lost.. I am sorry to hear about your Gramma, I do hope things will work out. I will keep all of you in my prayers..
Sorry to hear what you\'re going through. My grandmother (my father\'s mother) had Alzheimer\'s and it broke my heart. I was a little girl when she passed away, but I really loved her and it hurt me so much when she couldn\'t remember my name (especially since I was named after her).
You\'re in my thoughts and prayers.
I went through pretty much the same thing with my gramma. Most times it was the medications that would make her forget. I hope you are able to help her by being near.
