It is Thanksgiving, my baby was taken a month ago. He turned 21 in the filthy county jail. And I wont have him back for 3 years. What an awful way to start his life out. I am devistated, this has consumed my life, and i feel absolutely helpless. there is nothing that i can do to help him. He tried to call me today (i generally cant afford the phone calls, i have to wait until saturdays to see him) and the call dropped before i could talk to him. This life sucks. I am ashamed that i brought my beutiful children into such a dark world.

Janie, I know you are upset and this is a tough road to follow sometimes, but there is one thing I want you and your son to remember------this is DOABLE. DOABLE is the one work you want to always remember.
It will require patience and you will have to learn to take one day at a time, but you WILL get through this and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Keep your chin up. You are in a good place.

As Rew said this ride is doable it sucks but its doable. Take time to get your head around it its kinda like losing a loved one to start with it slowly gets to be a new kinda normal.......totally hate saying that but its true.
this is a one day or one second at a time thing some days will be good and others not so.
theres plenty you can do to help him believe it or not writing to him talking his calls when you can afford it and seeing him all helps but just knowing his still got his mum is a big thing.
Keep coming hear we do care.
I\'m sorry.... it is hard, it is sad, that won\'t change. But you WILL adapt in some ways. Some days will be better than others. Just know that for the most part, he will be ok. He will be bored, he will go through many emotions especially at first, like how could he have gotten into this trouble, etc. But he also will get used to the routine. If he gets in classes, and maybe takes on a craft project, which many of them do, it will give him a purpose to his day. And you will feel better that he is keeping busy.
That\'s what you have to do too. Keep busy. And use the rest of your family and friends to get through it too. Realize that your life is more than just him. It took me awhile to get to that point. Now when sad, I just go see mine more.
And if some of them are too critical about him, and you supporting him, stay away from those. They don\'t understand this feeling at all.
Janie,
May I ask......is 3 years the sentence as ordered? If so, then he could be paroled before then. If that is the case, then you can take some heart and have hope.
