I just realized that stress makes life difficult for me. I get anxious, sick, and sometimes depression comes back when I'm stressing out. I have swallowing problems, and they happen more often when I'm stressed. Also, I was diagnosed with parasomnia, which isn't life threatening, but is annoying and sometimes scary. My parasomnia is sleep paralysis, and it rarely happens, but when I stress, the odds of it happening increases. This past school year, I managed my stress well. It's hard, because I can't always tell when I am stressed. None-the-less, I did well, and didn't have as many problems as before. For a while, I didn't have much of any issues at all. Towards the end of the year, I began to stress and become anxious about things, and that's when I had more swallowing issues, was sick, almost got depressed, etc...I just felt like giving up, but I didn't. I managed to get through, and I was good. My concern is not how to manage stress, but how to push through safely whenever I do began to stress out. I'm considering therapy.....like always, but I'm more serious about it this time. I'm nervous, but I know seeing a counselor or therapist or whatever would be very beneficial for me :) I think I just might do it :D
