6-months

I am sorry to my friends that I haven't been on much.  I never realized how hard it would be to be a mother of a young infant.  Olivia definitely eats up all my free time.  She just passed the six months mark and I have finally started to get a little free time.  Part of it was my fault.  I didn't work hard enough to get her down for regular naps. . . Oh well.  I have finally got her on a schedule, which has given me some free time.  This is good, because I need to get back to work.  I have to accomplish something at my job sometime soon, or the University won't be real happy with me.  My department has been great.  They've given me a course release in the fall and I only have to worry about teaching one graduate class.  Thus, we won't have to put Olivia in much daycare.  Hopefully, this break will also allow me to get back on track with research.  I have a grant that starts next week, so I have to get back into it.  Part of my problem is that I am still breastfeeding, which means I can't be gone more than three hours or so from Olivia.  She is starting to get good at eating solid foods, which is helping, but she still is not good with a bottle.  I am hoping that I can manage to continue breastfeeding until she reaches her first birthday, but we'll see.  Anyhow, there is the update from me.  I hope all my friends are well here.  Sorry for not being on more.  I'll try to be around more often.
