Frustration
Saw my first neurologist yesterday in my quest for a diagnosis. I was passed off as having a "mood disorder". Disappointed and frustrated to tears. I will NOT give up, though. Thank you to this support group who has unknowingly been a source of my strength for about a month now...

Please don\'t give up! I had one just laugh at me and tell me I was \"wired wrong\" when I told him of a classic MS symptom I was having. Insist on a Neuro who specializes in MS. It took me about 40 years to get a correct diagnosis. I heard everything from \"Housewife Syndrome\" to terminal brain cancer. You just have to find the right doctor who knows his stuff and hang in there.
Gentle hugs, Linda
40 years! Oh my! What strength you have! I certainly was made to feel like he was saying \"housewife syndrome\" without actually using the words. Had he bothered to ask, I\'d have told him how far off he was in his assumptions... I had requested a neuro from the MS center, but was told by my primary care, that the local medical center conglomerate\'s \"procedure\" is to go to this neuro\'s practice first. It is easy to see how so many people in this country are addicted to pain medication. He seemed ready to brush me off and keep renewing my prescription for Gabapentin and Flexoril without a supporting diagnosis. Thank you for your comment and support.
Namaste.
