Happy Birthday

7 August - 10 months since he passed and also would have been his 77th Birthday.  It was a day of mixed feelings - sadness at his passing, memories of past birthdays and what we would do to celebrate but gratitude to all of my family and friends who were in touch during the course of the day to remember him and wish me well.
People remembering him is very important to me - it helps me to get through the days knowing how much people thought of him - he would have been so pleased and proud.  I always think it is a shame that it doesnt show until somebody dies.  My husband honestly believed that he had no real friends!!  How wrong he was.
I have had my brother and sister in law staying for two weeks but they have gone home today so sit is back to being alone.  It will be OK for a few days and then I will be looking for something (anything) to distract me and keep me busy.  Next week I will be going to Scotland to visit my youngest brother so that will be good.
I keep praying for it to get easier but as yet there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

I know that it has to get easier. That thought is what gets me thru many a day. From what I can tell by some of the entries that are written on DS it does. My husband died in October and his birthday was in Feb. I remember it as being a hard day. I went and got some pictures that I took of him on his last birthday...he was smiling and having a good time. He was fighting leukemia. At least now he\'s in heaven and healthy. I miss him so very much...he completed me. Many hugs to you. Colleen
