Hi DS Family....
I am moved as of last weekend and having a very difficult time moving into a shower, or doing anything constructive right now. This is the most difficult day yet. I am not depressed, just WEAK and FATIGUED!
My new housemate is a sweetheart of a woman, however she moves and I can't do anything presently.
I just pray I can shower, go to supermarket and then back down. I feel uncomfortable trying to explain CFS to her. She wanted to play cards and I just can't.
She offers to help me, however I need to get through the large high piles of boxes myself in piecemeal. Thank God my bed it set up and I was able to put clean sheets on it and make it up. I am barely functioning at all.
I pray for the stamina to do essentials. BREATHING and trying to push because I must pick up some foods and take care of my dog at least.
This is really a bummer with CFS!!! Every time I rise I get right back down to rest. My body is a magnet to gravity ...
Lord have mercy

My poor darling Debra . I hear you and I understand . I\'m a mess at present. My brother is close to death and my heart is heavy.I haven\'t slept much for the last two nights and now crashed.I just had a shower and got half dressed and then collapsed back in bed.Frank asked me if Iwas still coming out with him to get my reading glasses adjusted.I sat on them and now they\'re all warped. So I told him that my mind was willing but my body not able. I am too weak.No choice in the matter. So my dear sister, I truly understand your situation right now.Just looking at those boxes is probably too much to handle .I wish I could send you a robot to help.Well a real live human would be better for sure. You need to rest. You might have to delay things a little because the energy that you just used to move would have been a lot. You will probably have to explain to your new house mate just how weak you really are. I understand your need to contribute and be independent in your new place but I\'m worried about you. I don\'t know how anyone with severe CFS can survive on their own. I believe in you and know you will be alright though. You managed to move already so congratulations on that. Small steps for us are big ones. So I hope you make it to the supermarket. At least you can hang on to the trolley. What a hard trip it all is hey.I know that rest can start to sound like a dirty word after a while . That\'s all we ever seem to do.Rest..pick up a bit..move....crash..and REST!! So forgive me for saying it again but rest sweet soul and you will feel a little better to face a box or two . I\'m in bed typing to you and feeling like a sad rag doll but I feel some joy in my heart for knowing you . I\'m right there with you kindred spirit , feeling your struggle and loving you.Hold strong in spirit.Things will change.
Yes, I agree with Di. You have just been through a major push. Give yourself a very big hug fir having gotten through that. And yes, it is so hard to patient when you see those boxes sitting there, enough to make you want to pull your hair out, but please don\'t! Just know that the boxes arent; going anywhere and you will go through them a tiny bit at a time. Perhaps have your room-mate read a little about CFS to help her understand. Just a thought. You need to recover from the move and then do the picky stuff of going through things and organizing. IT will all work out. Just cut yourself a whole lot of slack right now. Take nice baths with a candle or scent, put on some relaxing tunes, give thanks to the goddesses within that got you to this new place. It\'s going to be good. And as Di says, Just rest.
LOve and well being to you,
Denise
Oh, my dear. I have felt that way too. It\'s like you stand up and you feel like you are going to fall right over. I know it\'s embarrassing to try to explain it. Most people won\'t get it anyway. I\'m sure your roommate will get used to the fact that you have to rest. I can\'t play cards or board games with my kids sometimes. It\'s hard for them to understand when my mind has shut down. They figure that playing is not physically taxing, but how do you explain that your brain took off and didn\'t leave a forwarding address? My sweet friend, as the others have said, rest. There is no other way to get back to some reasonable level of functioning. I\'ll be praying for you. Much love. Heather.
This is one of those times where you MUST follow this very common sense, yet SAGE advice. They gave it to us at GriefShaire, which is for dealing with emotional exhaustion, but it applies to those of us with physical exhaustion as well. JUST DO THE NEXT THING! Yep. That\'s it. You are overwhelmed right now! If the \"next thing\" is to go get a drink of water, then go do that. Then sit.
I am totally serious. You have to not look at those boxes or put some kind of pressure on yourself to get them unpacked. You also (listen to mama, darlin) have to explain to your new room mate that what you are experiencing after this move to a new place,is extreme in it\'s effect on your body, and that you will be moving forward very slowly.
I know we hate to let others see us in such bad shape, but SO WHAT! Right now you have to recover from the move. THEN, you restart with unpacking as your body allows.
I\'m not trying to sound harsh, Debra. It\'s just what you must do. Without any physical strength left, you must not push anymore. Rest now, explain later; If you had cancer and couldn\'t function, she would understand and not question. She needs to understand that your illness is invisible yet every bit as serious as a heart attack and you will be pacing yourself. You may be quite surprised at how much she is willing to forego judgement and try and help you. Then, please accept the help!
OK? OK! Big hugs. Go take a nap!! xo
