Im worthless and everything is my fault.
My family and I spent 4 an a half hours in the hospital with my niece yesterday because under my care she got a hold of my dads meds for his blood pressure. (To lower it) and everyone blames me for not watching her, but shes 2yrs old and dad should have put them up like mum always tells him too. She had one in her mouth when I found her, and the letters were still readable. She went too quiet and was only out of my sight for less than a minute. Shes got so tall, how could she reach onto the bench? She was fine but as a precaution we had to take her to emergency since we didn't know if she had taken any. I mean if we asked her and said a number she would just say yes. As soon as I saw what she had on the floor I forced her to open her mouth and threw the pill on her tongue onto the bench and burst into my mums room (it was like 10.30am) and it took an hour to get everything ready and call my sister and brother in law. He had to come home cause mum doesn't have a car and he had her car seat. But it was terrifying for me. I felt so bad. Because of me, she was in hospital and hooked up to so many machines to monitor her blood pressure. Even though, she was completely ok and I know that but if I was 5seconds too late she would have swallowed that pill and everything would have been worse. And it would have been my fault. No one in my family will look me in the face. THEY WEREN'T MY PILLS. Why am I being blamed. I over heard my sister and brother in law talking, saying that if i stopped thinking about myself and put my niece first then none of it would have happened. I always put her first, she comes first. Even on my worst days and i cant walk, she comes first. I keep saying that it wasn't my fault, these things happen but so many people are doubting me, even my bf. He doesn't want to be around my right now. That im starting to think, its my fault. I almost killed my niece because im selfish for thinking about my health.

I agree the meds should have been put away where a toddler can\'t get them. On the other hand, never trust a toddler on their own for even a second. You did get to her in time and she is ok so just be more careful next time. Never leave a toddler alone. When watching my granddaughter, I would put her in high chair and put it at the door of bathroom so I could go. LOL! She didn\'t mind and neither did I. Besides she didn\'t want me out of her sight. :P (((HUGS)))

She likes to do her own thing. and usually dad puts his meds back, but i think he forgot. I never leaver her alone for anymore that 30 seconds but ive had a bad couple of weeks.
I told my parents i over heard my brother in law blaming me and dad got really pissed off because he blames no one but himself and he feels really guilty. She\'s usually really good, but now she knows. She sees them on top of the fridge and will say \"Gpa\'s medication. Don\'t eat\"
