oh my
Recently I've been experiencing some intense leg/thigh pain that wouldn't go away with normal painkillers. So yesterday I went and saw my doctor and he gave me Tramadol.
To say that I was relieved would be lying. The first dose when I got home (about 5pm) was fine. I couldn't feel any pain, and it cheered me up. But it was when i took my second dose 5 and a half hours later was when it went down hill. At 5.45am I had a pain attack and my father found me on the toilet floor sweating, shaking and crying. But because of my state I had trouble telling him what was wrong. My mother stayed up with me until I felt better and had calmed down. I hated the hallucinations when i was drinking water and it felt like I was coming out my nose or I was growing a moustache. Now I look at it, it was funny.
But my mother warned about how addictive it is and shes right. I no longer want to take it, but my mind is telling me I need too and is making my joints flare, leg tingle and everything hurt just in hopes I would take it.

I have shingles. *sigh*
I didn\'t get my normal doctor so I had to explain everything. Then she tried to tell me I don\'t have arthritis. Like... what.
Shes sending me for xrays cause she thinks I have a cyst in the back of my knee thats preventing me from straightening and walking on my leg. Which means, I get to reconcile with my old pals... the crutches.
That\'s quite a reaction. It\'s interesting how people respond differently to the same drug. I\'ve been taking Tramadol for a long while and don\'t seem to have a problem with it but I know that others do. It\'s not a narcotic as some may think.
I hope you find some other pain relief that doesn\'t cause you any severe side effects.
Interesting about the cyst. Hopefully these docs will get their act together and give you the right diagnosis and treatment.
Sorry to hear about the shingles but it may be a good thing if this dr. is right and it\'s a cyst that can be fixed! And just a thought but you may be allergic to Tramadol. Wonder if it was because of the shingles too! (((HUGS)))
