I AM BACK!!!

Yayyyy!!! I finally got my account sorted out!!! For some reason I was not allowed to lof into DS for several weeks and I have missed you guys!!

So, quick update...I sprained my back 2 weeks ago and have been out of work for 2 weeks. It couldn't be helped, at times I felt the worst physical pain I had ever experienced. It is still sore, but so much better and I am going back to work Monday!!!

I have been stuck in bed spending way too much money watching QVC and HSN...I seem to have a new addiction...not good since I have not worked at my new job lomg enough to have much sick leave built up. So mt checking account is looking much slimmer than me and it will take a little while to catch back up, so I won't get a paycheck, or at least not a full one, for 2 or 3 weeks...hope my husband has patience with me...sigh, yeah right, lol. Speaking of which, uhm...no way will we ever be able to be retired at the same time...my nerves are shot. When I had Cassi I could tolerate the many idiosyncrasies he has...she and I would roll our eyes and then laugh together later. Her friend Kesley posted on FaceBook this morning..."Breakfast with Mother then shopping!!!" Ouch...I miss my girl so much. She was the best shopping partner...and "shopping" was our favorite pastime, sport, verb...We could spend hours and hours shopping, especially if we fell down a rabbit hole like Books-A-Million. Then we would go to lunch or dinner...Cassi would make fun of me because I always wanted a cocktail and would make her drive afterwards...I'm a lightweight when it comes to drinking, lol.

I bought my nephew a very nice Christmas present but that is all I have done. I made a decision to call Christmas off this year. I do not feel like celebrating anything and I refuse to fake it. My decorations are all candy themed. Candy, color everywhere...I have so many really nice things but I have decided to change that when I do go back to celebrating Christmas. For some reason, when I had Cassi, my "baby" I felt perfectly normal decorating my home like a gingerbread house. Now I feel it is time for a more "grown-up" theme. I am hopefully going to take advantage of the after Christmas sales and stock up for next year. I have decided to go along with the color scheme of my home...bronze, champagne, chocolate...with gold and silver balls as well. Neutrals with pops of gold and silver.

Anyway, I am soooo glad to be back!!!
Yayyy!!!

Hi Gina:
I hope your back is healing.
I too have no appetite for shopping. It just reminds me of Lisa\'s frantic shopping trips for last minute items. She loved shopping too. We would end up at a coffee shop for my latte and Lisa\'s Chai latte - and a decadent dessert. I must say I don\'t cry as much when I am in the shops at Christmas time.
Every Christmas for me has been different. Do what works for you. I think my fav was a non Christmas at the West Coast - it is famous for storms. We spent hours watching the waves crashing against the rocks. It matched my mood.
Wishing you peace and love.
Tight hugs,
Marlene

Glad things are sorted out with your account here on DS and was missing you. I figured work had you on overdrive so to hear that you had injured your back too... I\'m so sorry and please take gentle care of yourself.

Doing what feels healing is vital and it changes from year to year I have discovered for many of us. Some years lots of activity and others perhaps not so much. As long as I have my health and most of my gray matter I feel blessed and try to keep the focus on that.

Take care dear Gina and loved hearing too how Cassi and you would shop till you dropped. :) Those are precious memories indeed. :)

Loving care,
XO Joanie

I have also called of Xmas, so your not alone. I only care about making the Xmas blankets for my son\'s graves. I make then by stapling pine branches to a wooden cross and add pointsetta\'s and glittery berries and angles through out the crosses. So it will be very quiet here as well. I miss my kid\'s and have many good memories of them that just seems to make me cry........XOX, Debbie

Welcome home, Gina. You were missed. Your color scheme for next years Christmas sounds beautiful. You will need to post a few pictures, so we can enjoy them too. I have not decorated in several years. Just could care less.

I hope your back gets better soon. Love to you and your Cassi

Welcome back Gina! I\'m glad the tech problems have been resolved!

I\'m so sorry to hear about your back injury but happy that you\'re well enough to go back to work.

I can totally relate to what you said about not being retired at the same time with your husband. I\'m retired but my hubby is still working. He also has these idiosyncrasies that test my every nerve, but I\'ve been trying to think of it as a strengthening of my tolerance and patience. :)

I hope that your Christmas is everything you feel and want it to be like and that it is blessed with gentle peace and love, joy and hope, as meant to be.

Love and Hugs,
Diane
