Update
I have a few minutes so I will give you a quick update on Hunter.....Hunter was released Saturday afternoon. Part of his discharge planning is to schedule therapy which is already in the works. The Psychiatrist did not feel Hunter was a harm to himself or others so he was released. How do you really Know? I find that bright, smart, intelligent people are also master emotional manipulators @ times and are able to say what they need to, to get what they want? right? I'm sorry if that sounds like I'm not caring or I don't believe my grandson, but reality is that I also know him well and due to the history of dealing with his mom, I try to look @ everything.
I did talk with Hunter Sat. eve - he sounded great, talkative, caring and seemed to be excited to stay with me this week-end. I've never been nervous to have him with me, but the nervousness is setting in....I will just love him, talk if the occasion comes up, but I have planned a few things to keep us busy too. Prayers are always needed for Hunter - I know his heart is sad, hurting because of the cards that have been dealt to him.... And he will be 15 December 2.....need I say more?
Thank you for your support, kind words, thoughts and love - I have felt it since all this happened and YOU all are just priceless to me!! (((((hugs))))) Vicki

Oh Vicki...my heart hurt for you I to am in a similar situation with my grandson RyRy he is 10 years old now. I will pray for you and Hunter to have a GREAT weekend...are you attending the Retreat?
I can offer hugs and an open ear if you need it. (((Hugs)))
Vicki,
You and Hunter continue to have my prayers, support, positive vibrations and so on... Fifteen is a very hard age and so is \"knowing\" whether it is manipulation or their reality. I can understand the nerves but please know it was my grandmother who I always felt the unconditional love from... She always seemed to know what to say, what to do to make me feel special. So did my grandpa. I hope and pray you have a great weekend.
Sending love to you and Hunter,
Leda
I am glad for the time you have to spend with hm...sometimes there is nothing better than a grandmothers love. It was my mainstay as a teenager....the only constant. I will pray for nerves of steel for you..love you, Lauri
I\'m just getting up to speed on your Hunter. So very sorry to hear that he is struggling with life right now. You and he are in my thoughts with wishes for gentle healing.
Hugs, Debbie
Oh wow...I am so, so sorry Vickie. I went thru so much of that with my baby...it seems like there are no right answers or at least no easy answers. Once it gets to this point it is literally like knives piercing your heart and you want and need help but no one seems to understand. All I can say is take it seriously. I don\'t believe I have ever admitted this before, maybe not even to myself...but the last time my daughter was hospitalized I was so tired, so hysterical...anyway, I called my daughter\'s \"bluff\". I had gotten to the point that I thought she was being manipulative...six months later she was gone. It probably would not have made any difference if I had not made the angry statements to her that I did...but it\'s more guilt for a guilt-ridden mother. I am so sorry, I wish I could be of more help, but now, just as then, I am clueless.
You are right with the statement they know what to say. My daughter had that mastered. She is ok now, it took about a year till I could fully trust her. Things changed and there were other problems but it was normal teenage stuff. This will pass slowly but you are good at keeping him busy and lend an ear when he needs it. You and Hunter will do just fine.
Sending tight hugs Penny
Prayers and Hugs
I fully agree with you, Vicky. Smart people can be and often are huge emotional manipulators!! I constantly think of you and Hunter, and I\'ll keep praying for you both. You are an amazing granny!!
Warm hugs! xxx
spending the week end and being there is so important... you have my prayers...
I hear you. Being realistic does not mean you don\'t believe in Hunter. You are very right. Lisa was manipulative and once said \"You don\'t manipulate a manipulator\". As she matured, she used those skills for good.
Wishing you a great weekend with Hunter. I hope he is able to open up and share his feelings with you.
Love and tight hugs, M
You are blessed to have one another and are healing together. Your bond is great because of your daughter, Jennifer and it trumps all when I think about it. Hunter knows you will hear his heart and just love him, yet also be real with him too and not afraid to share your heart. One thing that I have found as an aftermath of those thinking of suicide is it leaves the family walking around around on eggshells and afraid to confront in a caring way. I know you understand this path as you have walked it before and are walking it and of course the nervousness is felt, how could it not be?
I am sending lots and lots of love and prayers dear Vicki and pray for Hunter. Just to be a teenager is enough and then add these life events and one can see so very easily why he was thinking of what he was. The fact that he shared it with his friend always makes me think that it was a desperate cry for help and if he can receive regular counseling what a plus that will be. Most therapists are very good at sniffing out the manipulators so trust that process and of course be aware and notice as you are.
Hugs and more (((hugs))) and lots of deep breathing with those inhales of peace, light, love, healing and exhaling worry, fear, anxiety and continually giving it all over to Spirit again and again and again...
XO Joanie
Hoping the time you & Hunter spend together will be healing for both of you.
Lots of hugs & prayers.
Vicki ( Jeremy & Chad\'s mom )
I think you are doing exactly what Hunter needs, even if he doesn\'t acknowledge it. Being able to see through the smoke and mirrors is exactly what someone dealing with emotional instability. Plus, your description of the manipulator routine is bang on.
I am sorry that you are experiencing some nerves with his anticipated arrival. But boy do I understand. Perhaps simply letting go and playing it by ear (and having a few planned activities) will actually allow Hunter time to talk. Often its so much easier to talk (for some) when their hands are busy.
I will think of you and Hunter this weekend and hope for the best. He is so lucky to have you!
Hugs,
Merrilee
Wishing you both a wonderful visit with good communication. Hugs, Kathy
