Saturday morning
Good Morning my Sisters of the Heart - I have been in my cocoon not really wanting to be around, with or talking to anyone but oh how I miss all of you and that special connection we all have. So here I am, hoping to get off my butt and keep moving forward, a baby step at a time. Thanking you in advance for helping me do that.
2 days after the initial robbery of the place that Jim was remodeling was hit again. All of the papers, more stuff and ransacked once again (more tools) - the police are saying "they are professional" because that's what they do - while the people are in shock over their heavy hit the first time, they hit again within a short period of time....You can only imagine the emotions that we are dealing with....doesn't make it any easier to get along with each other so I'm hibernating, just staying away from everyone except for my sisters.:) Good news is they may have caught at least 2 of them - in a hotel room not far from the robbery, some items were found with fingerprints....one of the person is a convicted felon out on probation so he is in custody....God is taking care of this - YAY!!
So beyond that - my Christmas was okay - Christmas Eve, Jim's daughter and 3 grandkids came over for a couple of hours - last minute plans which really worked okay. I fixed a big pot of chili, cookies and it all worked out okay. It was nice to have people over, laughing, and loving me in spite of my sadness. Christmas Day, Jim and I had breakfast with friends from church - 2 little boys which somehow made me smile....otherwise I felt lost that day...wanting so much to talk to my mom and daughter but the day passed and here we are - where does the time go? As you all are, I long for Jennifer. I ache for her.
I have another week off work so looking forward to whatever I need to do to somehow get re-fueled. AS you all remind me, this journey of grief is exhausting....Thanks for being here for me - it's hard for me to accept your kind words, sometimes, but I'm learning...Sending giant hugs to you and so much love. Vicki

they got 2 of the creeps... now I hope they get the rest... love and peace to your heart....
I believe this is one of the biggest learning curves of my lifetime as well. Never do I know how I might be feeling or where I\'ll find myself, yet one thing we keep doing together is walking, caring and sharing...
So sorry about that other \"hit\" and oh, what a horrible thing to have happen once yet twice?! Just awful!!!
Glad Christmas was ok and often those last minute plans are what work best as there is just not too much time to think about things.
Do whatever you need to and continue to refuel. The schools here have three weeks off... I couldn\'t believe that as we felt lucky to have two weeks in Utah.
Hopeful that a day to wiggle those toes in the sand will be yours and we\'ll be having ours tomorrow. :)
Love to you and yes, always longing for and missing our beautiful children.
XO Joanie
gentle hugs to you.
It is just horrendous having been robbed, not once but twice just before Christmas, one of your most fragile times of the year. I am so glad they have apprehended someone - he couldn\'t have been that much of a professional if he left fingerprints!
As for grieving, yes, it is exhausting. At first it was an effort to get up off a chair. Now, I do things to tire myself out so I don\'t fall in to limbo again. When I do cry, it bothers Joe - he always asks me if I am okay. He now accepts my response \"I was thinking\".
I am glad you found some joy over Christmas.
Wishing you a peaceful new year filled with love.
Tight hugs,
Marlene
So sorry to hear about another robbery. As for not being around much, you said it, cocoon state is where I have been, and still am. Tight hugs to you my friend.
Cindy
Unbelievable that the robbers hit again, so heartless. Good to hear that 2 were caught & hopefully all involved will be too.
Last minute plans can sometimes be the best. Less worry & more time to just be in the moment. May this next week you\'re off offer moments of re-fueling for you. Hoping 2015 is a better year for all of us.
Hugs of serenity.....Vicki
Another robbery, at the same place. Unbelievable!! So glad two of them have been caught. Hopefully some items will be recovered.
I too have been in my cacoon, only coming out when i have to. I made it through Christmas, but was so relieved, when it was over ! I have just lost the ability to enjoy holidays any more. Without my son, there is no holiday for me.
Glad you have some time off, to refuel.
((((HUGS))))....Julia
Vicki, glad two of those heartless scoundrels were apprehended. How awful for you!
The longing for our kids is always there but I have found it easier to bear over time. This profound loss has integrated into my life, my experience. Always missing Ed but most of the time I can carry it. From time to time I have a meltdown but generally recover quicker now. But it is hard, as you said exhausting and just plain heartbreaking. Sometimes cocooning helps, sometimes being with people helps. On some days nothing helps and I just ride it out. I know you are missing your dear Jennifer. Tight hugs of understanding, Linda
Oh goodness - so sorry to hear about the robberies. Glad they got caught and I hope they get what\'s coming to them. I get so fed up with that crap - people just creating more misery for others. Glad you survived Christmas and maybe have some time to relax before school starts. Take care and wishing you a gentle 2015. Joanna x
