Life
Today was my first day off work for 2 weeks and it was great to not "be needed" by others as is expected at work. I am still hoping that I somehow will be able to click my red shoes and it will be December 26 and all those mental images I have in my head of jovial families, friends having a "perfect" Christmas....But as we all know, the calendar will not change for us so Christmas is just around the corner. I'll make it through one step @ a time.
My husband wanted to move off the mountain and down the hill so he purchased a home close to Palm Springs, Ca. He has been remodeling it on week-ends planning on actually living there sometime after the new year. He has been moving stuff there little by little. I had moved 5 years ago so most of my stuff is with me - you need a bottle of wine or bottle of something to hear the whole story so I'll spare you...LOL
Well, he had not been there in a week - went today only to find the place had been robbed. All his tools, guns (some antique), ammunition, bow & arrow he used when he went hunting, $6000 Silver kept in a safe - they took the safe and miscellaneous boxes that he or I don't know what was in them....Police report was filed (no insurance as he is not living there yet) so lets just say, when I really needed him to be there for me this year @ Christmas - it won't happen :( I feel so selfish saying that but it just seems with him, it's always something even if it's out of their control.
Jim is the type of person that holds onto material things tightly and will fix a broken vase rather than throw it away. There's no judgement, it just makes it so hard to be with someone like that, because he will play the victim, martyr, so long and it just gets tiring and is so negative. In perspective of losing a child..I just can't let it drag me down...God knows I'm already down. What to do....that's only one reason why space from him works for me....I am so mad that thugs steal and just takes what doesn't belong to them that Jim worked so hard for .... my heart hurts for him - won't make Christmas any better that's for sure.
Thanks for listening again....life just keeps happening - Sending much love and hugs to you. Vicki

Christmas is over now, as it is Dec.29th, when I read your journal. I hope you and your husband had a quiet & peaceful holiday. Have they found out who robbed your husband??
((((HUGS))))....Julia
