Lonely
It's been almost ten months since Tom died. For the first time since then, I've thought about dating without wanting to throw up. I'm scared that it's only because I'm soooooooooooo lonely. For twenty years I had someone who was there to hold me, tell me I'm beautiful and fulfill all my physical needs. It's hard not having that anymore. I miss him. I miss being close to someone like that. I miss feeling that intimacy I always had with him. I yearn for it. I wonder if it is really time to start dating.

Only you know when it is time. I had his mom thinking about me moving on before we even had the funeral! My dad waited until after the funeral to say something. But what everyone has told me everything I could do for him I did while he was alive. Whenever I am ready I should not let anyone make me feel any type of way about moving on. His mom told me although we never married I will forever be her daughter in law but I cannot date a dead person and he would want me to be happy. I don\'t really think there is a time limit. I know someone who had a boyfriend two months later. The point I am trying to make it just because you move on doesn\'t mean you don\'t, didn\'t, and still don\'t love him. The love you have for him will never leave. But if you can handle it I say go for it! Just don\'t rush it because you do need to make sure you are ready. Hugs and Kisses.
Can\'t say much more than Honey already said. My wife died a year and a half ago. I went on some dates starting around the 6 month mark. Nothing got serious but it kind of helped me feel that maybe I was in fact ready for this, as strange as it seemed. I\'ve now been dating someone for 6 months. She\'s great and it has brought additional happiness to my life. Everyone in my circle has been very accepting and supportive of this. My only concern was my in laws. I\'m very close with them. They know I am dating someone. I know it was a bit weird for them but we had talked about this long before it even became a reality so they knew it was coming. I suppose it helped a little that my 4 year old daughter spilled the beans about my \'friend\' she had spent some time with recently! Do what feels right and makes you feel happy. Good luck.
