Feeling Good

Today was another good day for me.  I had a busy day at work, but I made a strong effort to think about everything that I said today.
There was a moment today where I caught myself thinking about telling a lie.  My wife asked if I had called back the therapist that I had left a message with to set up a consult.  My first reaction was to tell her that "yes, I had called and set up the appointment".  I'm not sure what I would have done since I didn't actually set a date.  The reality of the situation is that I did give a call back and the therapist was with another patient, so I am going to give her a call back tomorrow.  I'm glad that I was able to stop my thinking and tell her the truth.
This definitely opens my eyes to where my mind goes and how I think when I am lying.  Looking back now, it would have been incredibly stupid to lie.  I would of had to scramble to get an appointment with this therapist when the made up appointment would have been.  I had an instant fear that telling my wife the truth in this situation would create confrontation.  I knew that I should have been more diligent in calling back the therapist to set up an appointment.
Her reaction to the truth was good.  I mean, I could tell she wasn't exactly thrilled that I didn't pursue it more than I did, but it didn't cause the colossal meltdown that I had building up in my head.  She truly is very loving and supportive.  She's the best thing that ever happened to me and she cares about me so much, she is willing to help me through this.  I'm lucky to have her.
