50 days...and nights

Well, it has been 50 days since the last time I gambled. Happiness is . . . . I have noticed a few things since I stopped going to the casinos.....changes in my husband, less urges to gamble, thinking with my head instead of my emotions.   I had breakfast today with a very good friend who has known me when - - through thick and thin - since 1980.. We had a great time catching up; we see eachother quite often actually, but the last few weeks we've both been pretty busy.  She was very happy and proud of me for quitting... as we were leaving and talking in the parking lot - a wave of thankfulness came over me - for good friends and for some HP getting me through all of this.  I'm finally ready to put in the work, though so that does make a difference.
Recently have more work responsibilities which I love; it has helped to keep very busy at the job, so things will intensify there.... As long as we keep hiring and firing so to speak, I'm good.  :]  In the next month, the story will be told re: my husband's position and we are both a little concerned about it but I'm sure things will work out the way they were meant.  If we end up leaving the state, that will be fine too.. .CA does have it's financial and other issues.

Time to run get some things done,
Hugs to all and a good Sunday!

It does change your life in so many ways. Most for the best. I have found it also makes you take a look at your life. The things I was trying to escape now I have to deal with. That could be good in it\'s own way. You have used the tools you learned and put them to work, and it is work. Congratulations Smokey you are going to make it.
Hugs Steph

Well Pat, aren\'t you glad you quit when you did? If you were still at it, and with perhaps a change in jobs or moving, you would have really been in a bad way. Now you are accepting whatever comes and I am so proud of you and to tell the truth, if I could afford it, and had a car, I would leave California in a heartbeat. Just so expensive to live here and getting worse each year. hugs to you Barb
