5 Things About...well, just me
I notice I've picked up a couple of new friends over the last week, so for their benefit -- and maybe anyone else who wants to know -- here are five things about me (other than the fact that you can call me David or any version of my screen name you'd like) that may or may not help you understand who I am:
1) I'm kind of an introvert -- it shows on the boards typically, I don't post that much. There is part of me that fears saying something really stupid, but mostly I'm just in a shell. It's actually a lot worse on a face-to-face basis.
2) I miss playing pinball...and I mean on an actual machine. I had Pinball Dreams on my iPod Touch for a while, but the feeling isn't the same.
3) I'm on drugs for my depression -- have been several times -- but I speak thus: They're not doing a damn thing for me. They're not attacking my issues. But with my persistent suspicion of most people, counseling isn't an option. So whether I want it for better or worse, DS has become my refuge.
4) This may be irrelevant for most of you, but I'm enamored in that fabulous Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt. And yet...he practically bores me now. I don't think it's a matter of whether he'll win anymore in these major events (read: Olympics and world championships) but what his times will be.
5) I can't remember the last time I actually felt happy, and I'm really getting sick of it. And yet it really doesn't take much to either set me off, bring me way down, or both. And I don't think it helps that my family is clueless on why I feel the way I do. They only recognize that I'm depressed, but that is all. Another reason (like 3 above) why DS has become my safe zone for better or worse.
