5/22/12 Journal Entry, Part 2
So, here's the other part of the journal entry I started earlier, largely because the vent pretty much has to come out:
Here's what I mean when I said I felt one of my professors didn't stick to her grading policy. In my ethics class, I had to do a moral compass paper as the major part of my grade (counted for half of it). Well...I didn't do so hot with getting on track for this; pretty much the only thing I believed in was that if my guard wasn't up all the time the world would be out to get me. Two weeks after the fact, I still don't know and probably won't ever care about it again.
The short of it is that eventually I just slapped something together, but even then it was nine days late coming in. Per the course syllabus, since e-mail submissions would have counted, there should have been a five point penalty for every day that paper was late (half a grade level, essentially). By those standards, there should have no point in the professor reading it at all because the time penalties pile up high enough to flunk it regardless.
Considering how late it was and how stiff the time penalties should have been, nothing but nothing in my heart will ever be able to justify how I got a straight B out of it (which would end up being my final grade in the course). I feel like I have essentially gotten away with assassinating the President because I really should have flunked that course. There's just no rationale I can think of other than the professor had to have been hung over or something.
(sigh) Even on the paths I want it's been much more about being lucky as (cuckoo) than actually being smart. It's no wonder I consider myself a moron. When will that stop?
