4th of July fireworks Mt. Vernon
I went to Mt. Vernon on the 4th of July. We got to see the General and Mrs. Washington. He gave a speech before the fireworks. We saw boats on the Potomac and it was neat to see them lit up when it got dark. They had spotlights on so people could see where they were going, but the lights were shut off when the fireworks went off.

I’m glad that you got to see the fireworks in person, it looks like a beautiful place and I’m just glad you had a good time. I guess it wasn’t quite so hot being so close to the river, at least I hope not.
