Today also my BF of 20+ yrs was involved in DV with her husband of 8+ years. and my heart goes to her. I was very much involved in DV w/ my husband over 14yrs and it's not a nice feeling. your self esteem is below the radar and you try to stick in there for the kids and all the other stuff you tell yourself to get through another day. My story is too long and so is hers but not enough to be hit or choked. The last day my EX- husband touched me in that manner was June 9, 2007. And I'm now safely divorced. I said all of this to say that no matter how long ago it was it still feel like yesterday. As she told me what happened to her I could feel myself choke up in tears. For her and me. ABUSE is ABUSE no matter what form. I hope that whoever reads this learns that if nothing more. Pray for me as I do for You. God bless.
