well ive had a strange few days, I had to take the weekend off, no more facing my fears for a couple of days, I found my self absolutly exhausted, physically and mentally, Back to the grinding stone monday morning, I found myself heading to the coast yesterday which meant going over a mountin pass or going around it, im not afraid of hieghts but when i got real bad with anxiety id been avoiding this pass, I stopped at the bottem, do i turn left and go around or straight up?Yet another opportunity to face a fear, I have to go up, I dont really have any choice do I ? Going around things is no longer an option, ive been doing that for years and that hasnt got me anywhere,  My first thought was to grip the steering wheel tight , grit my teeth and go for it full on, but i know if i can keep my discipline and do it the correct way I will be another step forward to healing myself. So i got myself relaxed, shoulders and body almost slumpped, I told my self if a panic kicks in I im to remain relaxed and totally accept it and the fact that it wont harm me. i drove up that hill and my heart was pounding but i remained in my relaxed state and invited the panic on, i got to the top my heart still pounding, but still relaxed inviting the panic on, my exact words were come on then its only sensations you cant hurt me. I came down the other side a little bit shaky but fine. That night i came back over to go home pretty much the same experience. this morning I went over the pass again with no hesitation and I was fine not even a raised heart beat. I created a new none anxious memory.  With all the techniques ive tried this one is the hardest, well reqiures more self discpline, Facing and execpting and floating through it, but definitley the soulotion to beating anxiety and panics, if I do enough it will become a habit and i wont have to think about it, and coupled with my possitive self talk i know im going to be free soon, although i dont care if it takes all year.  just practise over and over. I will never avoid or go arond these siutations again.
