I need some advice. Josh's stone is almost ready. They want to put it down on the 24th (Tuesday). Josh's 4 month anniversary. I just don't think I can have it put down the same day Josh went to heaven. John said it was up to me. My mother says it will be a present for Josh. What are your thoughts?

honey if you dont want to do it on that day then dont. if it is too much for you emotionally then wait. If it is up to you then do what you feel. I am sorry you are going through this. thank you for your comment on my journal I actually got a slight kick out of what you said about when you cry your husband acts like you have a disease or something. that was funny. well I know what you mean about making ourselves happy, but I just wish I knew how to go about doing that. take care

I agree as well. It is up to you. No one else. It is how you feel. You should place the stone on his resting place @ your time. I will probably not be putting the stone on my son\'s until his one year anniversary. In my faith we keep the stone covered until the year anniversary and then it is uncovered. What ever day it will give you peace that is the day you should do it. I know you will choose the right day. Hugs and prayers.

I also agree with the others. It\'s up to you. If you can\'t bear the emotional grief of that day, and just don\'t want to compound it with putting Josh\'s stone down, then don\'t. Wait until you are ready. Maybe just wait for a couple days...maybe friday...then you and your husband can go to the cemetary saturday or sunday afternoon. Maybe heve your husband go to actually check the stone before it\'s put into place. So there are no surprises...I\'m sure it will be fine though. Then when you and him go...it will have been in place for a day or two. Giving you a day or two to \"know\" that its there. You will hate seeing it...no matter if your there the minute its layed...or a month or year later. It will hurt seeing it. You will get through it. Just do it at your own pace. Take our suggestions, but do what you think you need to do. Remember...the is no \"time\" table for these kind of things. Everything is on your time. It\'s your son. Good luck, and may you have some moments of peace today. Meagans mom...Theresa

Speaking as EvansMom: His stone is ready - I just got the call yesterday. I don\'t want to see it, hear about it, or even know about it. I guess it\'s the finality of it all. I\'m not ready, and they aren\'t surprised. It\'s up to us and it\'s in OUR timeframe, so let\'s just give ourselves a break for a bit and we\'ll deal with it as soon as we\'re able. Many hugs - Barbara

Just take your time. Ben\'s stone has been ready but isn\'t on his grave yet. I have looked at it several times and the first time was especially hard. You will know when you are ready. Please don\'t let anyone tell you what to do or when to do them, and please don\'t feel pressured. Pat
