update

Coming up on the second Christmas since the separation. I've had some lovely Christmas moments with the girls over past month. It takes a bit of planning to get everything squeezed into the weekends we have together. The girls have been with their father since Friday. Tomorrow, Christmas Eve, they come back. I can't wait. The season is just flat without them. I don't think I will ever completely get over not having my children for holidays. It is ridiculous. And, knowing that they are with the OW just makes it that much worse.
But, I am almost thru the worst of it!
I hope everyone is finding peace and joy this holiday season!

I agree.. holidays are one of the worst adjustments for me too.. I\'m 310% grateful that the kids are with me every christmas.. this last thanksgiving was my first one without them.. and like you I felt like the season was just flat without them..

over time we\'ll get used to this new arrangement, and it won\'t be as hard.. it will become normal in a few years :) I\'m so glad your girls are coming back home to you tomorrow! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas :) ((hugs!))

You are right. Holidays, especially Christmas, are so much more when seen through the eyes of your children and their joy. It is very hard not having children from the holidays. I also did not have my son for Thanksgiving, nor at all that whole weekend.
I\'m so glad you kids are coming home and wish you a very Merry Christmas! I will pick my son up at noon today, celebrate with him tonight, and drop him off first thing in the morning. At least I get to see him.
