up

Whew! That was a long down spell. But today, it was all over. I rode the wave and am now standing on the shore watching the sun set.
These spirals come and go; they are getting more sparse (but are still intense)
Thanks to those. Who commented and kept me going!!

Glad you are on the shore!! I had a small one myself yesterday while packing and coming across an old notepad.

Can I ask how you got through it? Just \"rode the wave\"? Breathing exercises?

Where in Canada are you? I\'m in Vancouver.

Hi Wyn - well, I had a little meltdown on DS - see precious journal :)

But more to the point, I focus on one or two key things and develop a laser focus on them. Everything else I. Give myself permission to ignore. This helps me prioritize the things I care about but not get overwhelmed by everything on my plate. And helps me feel like less of a failure if I continue to deliver \"small wins\".

I remind myself that this is \"chemical\" - I may feel like a failure but it is my mind playing tricks on me. I have a list of \"successes\"/\"gratitudes\" that I carry around in my work file - like a security blanket.

Mantra - I am a good person, this feeling is not real, it will pass.
Say it over and over and over....and over....

Now - what I should do but am terrible about is making sure I sleep. Lack of sleep is a huge trigger for me. And I\'m typically running with very little buffer. So, when I feel it coming on, I should get ruthless with my sleep.... unfortunately, I tend to do the opposite.

I do reach out to people too... but that can often be more stressful, or relief is fleeting.

That mantra pretty much drags me thru...

Hope that helps!

I\'m in Ottawa.
