Exhausted

Today was a really hard and exhausting day for both Ed and myself.  We took the usual 2 busses to get to his dr.'s appointment and walked the 2 long blocks go get to the building.  When it was time to sign in, we were told that his appointment needed to be rescheduled as his nurse practitioner was not going to be in.  There was no one there that could cover for her.  How frustrating.  We went to the pharmacy then to set it up for mail order to make it easier on ourselves.  The long 2 blocks walk back to the bus stop.  We missed a bus by about a minute.  More frustration.  We had to wait 30 minutes for the next bus.  When we changed busses Ed went into the Circle K to get a money order for our granddaughter so she can get her driver's license.  We just made that connection as Ed came out of the store just in time as the bus was arriving.  Then the long 2 block walk home.  All this walking is really hard for both of us, but it is good for us too.  When we got home Ed took a nap and I played games on the computer.  Then when he woke up we decided to go out to lunch.  Back to the bus stop, and oh how my legs were aching.  We went to a buffet.  Why we did not order off the menu when we were hurting so, I don't know.  When we got done, back to the bus stop, and again the long 2 block walk home.  I went to bed early, but the insomnia has kicked in again, so I am here venting again.  I will get over the sore muscles and the frustration because everyone here is so supportive.  Thanks to all of you for  letting be who I am.  Love to you all.

Oh gramma what alot of walking, the dr. office should have called to let you know she wasn\'t going to be in; that\'s terrible. At least with the buffet you got something out of your trip, I hope you enjoyed it; we love buffets. I hope you got some sleep, after a day like that insomnia is just torture, you need your rest to recuperate. comforting hugs, ssLisa

The dr. didn\'t call as we were the first appointment of the day and the office only got the message a few minutes before we walked in. We repeated the whole dr. office ritual yesterday, but we did get to see the dr. They gave Ed a stronger dose of Sinemet. We are hoping that this will work for his tremors. We go to the PC dr. on Nov 19th to see if she can do something about the extreme pain he is in. The neurologist says that the tremors should not be causing so much pain and he does not deal in or handle pain as he is a neurologist. You would think that is crazy. WE also have an appointment on Nov. 1st to see if we can\'t get lower co pays. If we can, it would reduce our costs 50%. The PC is easier to get to. Only a walk of 1/2 block. Last night we both slept better. Ed slept better than he has in a long time and he didn\'t even take a pain pill. A few good things are starting to happen. I did a lot of cooking this morning. Pancakes for breakfast, then Ed\'s favorite, whole wheat apple surprise cake, and then chocolate cookies. The cookies are for the reception after a memorial for one of the ladies at church that passed away quite suddenly. She was a great lady and will be terribly missed. Phoenix is pretty warm today. The high is supposed to be in the 90\'s but next week the high\'s are supposed to plummet into the 70\'s. This is why I stay in Phoenix and endure the hot summer. I went to my dr. last week. I lost 16 pounds since June, and all my numbers came in where they are supposed to. Even without insulin, I have kept my A1C at 5.6 or 5.7. I am sure all the walking is helping. Have a great day.
