Well, back home now. Been in the hospital for almost a week. Started out with an infection in my hand, and of course I just kept hoping it would get better on it's own. Boy was I wrong. Came very close to losing my hand. On Moday it was so bad, but I tried going to work anyway, but there was no way around it. Just touching anything was so painful. My hand was the size of a boxing glove. At first they wanted to admit me, but I was worried about Jimmy. They let me go home, but told me I had to come back twice a day for antibiotics. I tried doing that for two days. I would go early in the morning and wait about four hours, and then come back again at night and wait another four hours. By the second day it was just too much, and I asked them to admit me. I got Carlos to feed Jimmy, so that was good. Being in the hospital these days sure isn't fun. You can't smoke, so they give you a nicotine patch. The first day wasn't too bad. They were giving me morphine, gravol and a few other things. Then they looked at my medications and made some adjustments. They increased the Effexor, and gave me something to calm me down when I get too wound up with things. I told them that I had been getting very depressed, and worrying about maintaining this place. Actually the stay did really give me a rest that I think I needed. I got to eat lots of food and drank lots of juice. They had the food carts outside the kitchen part and lots of people left lots of good things. Puddings, juices, deserts. There was lots of seconds too. I really pigged out. I'm sure I put on a couple of pounds there. You know, I never used to beleive much in depression. Most times I thought it was something that people created with their thinking, but I'm starting to see that there really is something to it. I felt awful before I went to the hospital, but since they adjusted it, I feel much better and able to cope. Before it felt like I was drowning. I learned a lot from this experience. I know that not getting medical attention sooner was wrong, but I also know too now that I do need medication. I think that was a big mistake listening to Dillon about getting off everything. I'm sure he meant well, but I disagree now. AHHHHHHH, it's so nice to be home now. Not listening to monitors, people throwing up, and all that other hospital stuff. Now I'm only listening to Carlo's and Dan fighting downstairs. Dan's drunk, and the cops have been here once already. Home sweet home. Thank you Lord.
