Boy, this winter seems to be rough all over. So many people going through all kinds of problems, not just me. It's really amazing the people I've met here on this site, and sharing our tough times as well as the bad. It's really had an affect on the way I see people now. I don't think I ever got into really seeing, and experiencing real things like this. I think it's really helped me to care more for others a lot. My freind is having a tough time. Her dog died, and she's going through the loss now. Not a good thing to have to go through, but we all experience it at some point. Sometimes I'm gratefull that i went through most of that long ago with my family. Loseing my wife and kids was very hard too, but I'm over all that now, and seem to be moving on in life. There's times when I still miss the ones that are dead, but I'm glad that I was given the oportunity to have shared life with them. My kids, of course I miss them. I've accepted that as being one of the consequences of addiction. I don't beat myself up anymore, or blame myself. I know that I never deliberatly set out to do, or be the way I was, it's just a consequence of addiction. Some of us pay higher prices than others, but without the pain of those consequences I would never have sought out help, or learn the things I know now that helps me to take responsibility for my addiction. Life is really one long learning experience, and we were never given an exact way to live. Wouldn't that be great if we were? Actually we do have exact ways. For me it's the bible, but back then I had no interest in that. I have to thank God even for having my addictions. If it wasn't for my addiction, I never would have found God. Life is funny that way. Well, I'm going to make this short tonight. I need to get to bed early, and get a bath. Tomorow will be a brand new day. With it's gifts, and oportunities to grow, learn, and show some of the love that God has given us. I feel like a little kid sometimes when I wake up. "Whatcha got today for me, Lord. Whatcha need me to do?" God bless us all. Amen.
