Feeling good today. Got up earlier. That getting up late yesterday really wasn't good. I can't believe how late I slept in. Woke up about 1:30 in the afternoon. Day was pretty well done by the time I got started. Worked with Bob last night for a little bit. At times he can be really anoying. Seems to have a language all his own. Tells you to do, or get things that don't make sense, and I have to ask him to repeat himself all the time. He also gets thinking really crazy at times. He can complicate the hell out of simple things. Last night we were connecting a pipe to the water heater. After we finished he couldn't figure out why the ventilator wouldn't shut off, and was worried that the thermostate wasn't shutting off. I showed him that there was no fire under the heater going. Now, I'm no expert, but if there is no fire going, it means it's off. He couldn't understand that, and kept arguing saying it was still going. He said there was flame because the pilot light was on. I told him the pilot is always on. I told him the ventilator was only going to get rid of any carbon. He kept repeating the same things over, and over, like he wasn't hearing what I was saying. We sat there for an hour waiting for the ventilator to stop like it should. Everything was fine just like I said. Then he started trying to figure out why it was working right. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh A nut. at least I got paid for it. He used to be an alcoholic, so I guess that explains most of it. It seems that for us alcoholics, thinking can really be a nightmare. I notice when he's driving his thinking often gets him distracted so much that he can'y pay attention to simple things. After it stops raining, he'll keep driving with the wipers on unless you tell him to turn them off. I like working with his nephew better. He's crazy too, in other ways, but doesn't seem as bad. I don't know wheather it's because I'm in recovery or what, but I don't seem anywhere near as bad as them, and I don't think that's a conceited asumption. I know I'm crazy too in lots of ways. I think that knowing your crazy, and accepting it, really helps living with it. Usually I find that people that think there normal, or not crazy, are the one's you have to watch. I find that all people are crazy to some degree. The only ones I find that seem to be sane are animals. It's funny, but true. I often watch my cat and admire how he manages to live for the moment. They don't complicate their lives like us humans. They are much more capable of acceptance, among other things that we strugle with to overcome. You can learn so much about life and how to deal with it from watching animals. Yet we think that our inteligence and knowlegde makes us superior to them. I think our inteligence and knowlegde actually does the opposite. It creates the problems that we constantly encounter. People try so hard to be anything, and everything, accept who they really are. We have a hard time just being us. It seems that we need to be taught who we are. A cat knows he's a cat. Doesn't try to be a dog, or anything else. Even my cat I wonder often how the heck he learns things that other cats do. He hasn't grown up with other cats. He plays like a cat, he uses the cat box like a cat, he punches his sleeping place like a cat. How do they know these things? And yet we say were so smart, Ha! Anyway, thank you Lord for another day of sobriety. Help me to keep my focus on you, and your teaching throughout the day. May I do your will and not mine. P.S. Help me to be able to deal with, and understand Bob better. Give me patience and the tolerance I need to act accordingly, and in a loving mannor. Amen.
