Today was a wonderful day outside. Nice and sunny, and cool. My freind Tim came over for awhile. He's really a good guy. He's struggling a little about wanting to use. He hasn't for the last two months, but right now his situation isn't all that great. He's living at a place that has people with mental, and addiction problems, so he hasn't got the most encouraging enviroment. He's on welfare right now, and wants to find another place. He has a broken leg that is healing, but makes it hard getting around. He's really a good guy, but I can see he needs some stability. I told him if he wanted he could stay here for a bit until he can get his own place. he said he was alright for now, but would keep in mind. I enjoyed having him here and talking. He's about the nicest person that I find easy to get along with since being in Kitchener. I hope he sticks with it. Anyway, he knows I'm here for him if he needs help. It feels good being in the position that I can help him or others now. Never really was in that position before. I was always so messed up I could never help anybody. It's been nice just relaxing today. Didn't do much of anything really today. Just played with little Jimmy. I bought a peice of corned beef last night and cooked it. Looking foreward to that. Haven't had that for a long time. Nothing like having a huge thin sliced corned beef on a kaiser, with mustard and dill pickle. When I was younger I worked in a lot of delicatesans. I love the old fashioned way of them. This new stuff you get in stores now isn't real corned beef. The old ways you pickled the beef and then boiled it. Nowadays they mostly inject the flavour because it's faster. I find it doesn't even taste the same. Lots of people seem to like this new stuff, but I don't. Even the roast beef you get in supermarkets, to me doesn't even taste real. Mostly taste like salt. In Toronto they have many delicatesans there. I used to live in this Jewish area that had authentic deli's. My favourite was a place called Kat's. When you bought smoked meat or corned beef they really knew how to make a sandwich. Pilled the beef sky high. You payed more, but it was worth every cent. Making me hungry just thinking about it. Going to go out now and get me a kaiser bun or two. Gotta do my laundry too. Lord, I thank you for corned beef. Thank you for all you do. May I follow you, and your way's, always. Thank you. Amen
