Today was good. Kinda fell asleep on the bus this morning and went past my stop. Only 5 min late. Blamed it on the weather. Snowing like hell here. I don't find it really cold, just the wind gets cold. I stayed awhile after work to help my manager with a special party they were doing. Real fancy stuff. My mjanager seems to be a really nice person. I don't get to talk to him much, but I see things that I've never seen in places that I've worked before. One day I seen him hugging the chef. Just a frendly one, I think. Then today this lady was leaving and saying good bye to him. He gave her a big hug. It's really nice to see that. I find things so differant there. People are really nice, and they show it. sometimes I think back to when I was a Chef and Boy, was I differant. Mostly I was an asshole. I was either hung over or comming of drugs and I really wasn't the nicest person. I thought I was, and I probably tried to be, but the life of booze and drugs doesn't really allow for the good things to prevail in us.     I kept thinking about John alot. He usually looks after the Center here, but Dillon suspended him for derlection of duty, he said. Aparently John has an internet addiction. I find that a little hard to understand. I use it,but it's not my life. He apparently has a real fantasy life with it. When I first came here, I remember wanting to change things. Maybe this is God's way. I remember always comming in and nobody would even say hello. They would be stuck on the computer doing stupid things, nothing to do with recovery. It's a Sobriety Center! People should be doing things with recovery. They should be at least saying hello when a person comes in. I talked to Dillon about this. I want to do some stuff here. Like get groups going or have meetings. Here in downtown Kitchener, there are so many people outside these doors that are messed up with drugs and booze. There's hardly a day I don't pass somebody with a black eye. Even this morning at 5: 30, I seen this young girl picking up a trick. I beleive that I do have a calling for this place, and I am going to start some things soon. Lord, You bless me everyday, and my needs are truly being met. Thank you.
