So I was thinking tonight that its been 8 days since I showered, not that I'm proud of that……so why not at least take a bath. I was thinking its been a while since I took a bath. I know I'm a guy but I love to soak in a hot tub once in awhile. So, I run the bath, light some incense to help relax and less than 5 minutes into the bath I start thinking about slitting my wrists and bleeding out in the tub. I don't know if its true but I've heard that the hot water will help the blood run more quickly. Why the fuck do I know shit like that? Why do thoughts of suicide plague me every now and then? I'm so sick of this shit!

The intrusive thoughts strike at THE WORST times... I\'m so sorry. I\'m glad you got frustrated about it rather than do it, but it\'s so hard to not be able to get away from that bullshit in your head. ((hugs)) hang in there!
I think the thing about bathtubs is common or fairly common knowledge. Intrusive thoughts are the worst, especially ones we\'re sensitized too. The trick is letting them be like any other thought and not highlight the negative. Anyways, enough advice. I can\'t do that trick very well myself. Practice. I\'m sorry Pagan. I hope you were able to enjoy some of the bath. Hugs x
Can you practice some quiet mindfulness? When an intrusive thought enters your mind, try pretending that your thoughts are going along on a conveyor belt and as each thought comes along, look at it on the belt and watch it move right on by. Place any intrusive thoughts on the moving belt and let them melt away. You can also box them up and watch them go along the moving belt. It\'s all about imagery and mindfulness. It\'s far easier said than done - bug it\'s a great tool to have! Big hugs, Pagan. (btw: you\'re not the only guy who likes taking baths!)
I do something (well I try) like SK. i see thoughts as clouds that just pass on a sky blue day and picturing them just as fleeting when I can. Lots of guys like baths Pagan! But maybe if it\'s a huge trigger you need to not do it until you are in a better place. From time to time I\'ve went three days without a shower that\'s my limit with myself and I always wonder why I put it off bc I feel so much better. Ofc these days with company dropping by the most I will go is two days and it\'s helping me. Funny how something like that helps but it can get you out of a funk (pun intended!) HUGS MY FRIEND!!
