I care very much for my parents but we have a communication problem. Come to think of it this has gone on my whole life. I feel like its mostly my fault being so fucking moody they never knew which Michael they were getting. Would I fly off the handle or internalize it to the point it upset me but I wouldn't tell or would I be ok with whatever they told me.These days I feel like they are walking on eggshells around me and I am walking on eggshells around them. Its very awkward a lot of the time. I feel like they don't truly listen to what I tell them or ask of them and thats a feeling that goes way back to my youth. When my mother gets back from her trip I want to have another family session with my therapist. We can't keep communicating like this. Its upsetting, pisses me off and is sometimes triggering.

I\'m sorry for the problems... I really am. I think having a family session is an awesome idea!!! What a way to bring the power and control back to you. I hope it gets better, P. Big hugs.
family dynamics when a person is truly struggling.. and has been since childhood/adolescence ..... are complicated..... and I think parents and children don\'t always know how to communicate with each other at the best of times.. a family session sounds like a really good idea.... that\'s being proactive as well as being brave.... stepping out of your comfort zone again.... you are getting good at that
I wish you well Michael (((hugs))) xx
i didn\'t resolve my upbringing and how to relate to my parents until I was around 44!! There is hope but it\'s tough working through family dynamics that have been in place since you were growing up. Good for you for wanting to try a family session with them. I hope things improve with them very soon!! HUGS!!
I think you\'re dealing with this very constructively. Sounds like you\'re part of a supportive family, and if so, I think you\'ll experience some positive changes.
Big hug for you P.... Have you ever gone for anger management sweetie?... Your therapist could refer you for it if you want... It might be a big help finding good tools to use.... Family dynamics can be difficult for sure at times..sigh... Another hug...xo
