Got off the phone with my dad a little while ago and he was suggesting we go to see a movie together. Its some new Adam Sandler movie and is supposed to be very funny. This took me off guard, I didn't know what to say other than I will let him know what my schedule is like on Tue. which is the best day for both of us. I feel that for most people this is a no brainer, just go to the movies with dad. Well, I'm not most people and my first reaction was to say no but I didn't. I am surprised that he would suggest it though. I haven't seen a movie with him since I was a kid. My mom is out of town for another couple weeks so I feel like he may be lonely plus maybe he is trying to bond with me. I don't really know, I'm just speculating. He lives with two cute little dogs that help keep him company but its not the same as human interactions. I honestly don't know what to do. For some reason this feels weird to me, out of my comfort zone. I feel like an ass for saying that but its the truth.

You\'re not an ass. Think about it for a bit, see how the idea settles. Idk how you relate with your family, so I don\'t feel like I can give much more advice, but if you get along with your dad I think it could be a nice thing. Esp bc at movies you don\'t have to keep conversation up or anything, just sir back and basically watch tv together.
sorry, something is wrong with this damn site and I couldn\'t type more than that...
I do compassionately wish you luck thinking on it. I hope you are happy with whichever decision you come to, friend. ((hugs))
I think it\'d be good to go, but it\'s up to you to decide! I recently spent a day with my dad and I\'m really glad I did. I\'ll remember the day for a long time. And yeah, a movie would be low key...no talking needed!
If my father called me up and inviting me to a movie, I\'d shit twice and die. I would be so over-the-top shocked I wouldn\'t know WHAT to do! But it does sound like he\'s trying to bond with you and that\'s a wonderful thing! Extend the olive branch and see what happens. If you\'re driving yourself, you can always leave. I\'d say check it out...but go with your gut feeling. You do need to protect yourself. I hope it goes well!
altho a surprise for the books it is nice that he is reaching out to you.... maybe he is trying to engender more of a connection? idk.. I don\'t know the dynamics of your family so it is hard to say.... to us on the outside it sounds like a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your dad.... but it\'s you on the inside that counts... if it is stepping out of your comfort zone that can be scary.... tell me about it! whatever the reason Pagan..... give it some thought and make a decision based on what you want to do... I know I make it sounds easy and it is far from that... trust your gut......if it is worth trusting? sit with the feeling and see how it makes you feel..... whatever choice you make will be the right one for you in the here and now
(((hugs))) x
Pagan I\'m like all the rest I don\'t know the history of you and your dad but the movies would be nice bc no need of much conversation but stil spending time together. BTW I have heard that movie is great!!
