Grandpa is on morphine now to take away the pain from his legs. It was so good to see him today, he was very much alert and is still not confused. However he was hallucinating earlier because of the morphine, he could see coyboys and motorbikes, lol. I know its cruel to laugh, I don't mean it in a bad way, obviously I don't. But, just to know that he isn't in pain and that he is totally not confused, he would answer any question you asked him. The hallucinating couldn't be prevented. I understand so much can change overnight. And we've been told not to get our hopes up. Today he got a few hours dialysis aswell to cleanse the blood, so that is also a very good sign, and he is still getting treatment so thats the main thing. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done for the infection in his legs :( its only going to get worse. I actually prayed last night. Now I do not consider myself to be religious at all, but I just felt as though it was the only thing that I could do, and I did it! Maybe it was just a coinsidence, who knows. I am so happy hes still here with us. But, I can't help but think, just what kind of existence is it. He won't be back home again, hes just basically bed ridden, except that he is still there, he is still himself, there is no confusion, he isn't losing his sanity or anything. So, there is no need to pull the plug so to speak. He's surprised us all. He must be much stronger than we all thought. But we all know its just round the corner before he will no longer be here. But all we can do for the time being is to be thankfull to have him alive and sane and be able to talk to him and comfort him best we can.He is in no pain :) I would give everything and anything for things to be the way they once were. I want my grandad to stay. But we all know that life is life and noone can live forever. I don't want him to go. Noone wants to lose anyone, but it can't be prevented. I just wish he had a few more years left. I wish he was here for my mums birthday coming up in a few weeks time, and for my 21st and brothers 18th this year, and to spend christmas and new year with him, I wish he could stay longer. Maybe I am being greedy, I asked God for a few more days, I have to be greatful for that, if he gets it.
